When we talk of faith or believing, the words, right and wrong, become subjective words because when I say, I believe, I am also admitting, I don’t know. If I were a son of Hitler, I would have believed what he had done was the right thing. If I were a dedicated Moslem, a devout anti-American, I would have thought that a car-bombing to kill Americans would be a righteous act.
But as an American and a Christian, what Hitler did to humanity and the car bombings are hideous acts to be shunned at any cost.
How should I lead my life then? Words that come to my mind are understanding and compassion. Respect other’s faith and views. Their faiths and their views are as valid as mine. Another thought that comes to me is, In this world, power rules. Let the power that respects individual freedom and human life rule the world.
